One of the hunters is shown with a large, arching bow - a classic theme favoured by artists in the 1920s and 1930s. Mayodon largely worked in ceramic or porcelain, and his male figures tend to have wide shoulders and imposing figures, here given a bold, bas relief treatment. His glazes are rich and atmospheric, in this case with a craquelure effect. See less
