The scarf design features the flags of the British commonwealth nations of the time, the coronation chair, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and other symbols of the empire.

Founded in 1932 as a fabric retailer, Jacqmar of London provided luxury silks and textiles to the couture industry expanding into the high-end scarf market. During World War II, Jacqmar produced a series of patriotic propaganda scarves supporting Britain's war efforts. Still in business today, Jacqmar continues to design and make scarves and textiles of the highest quality.

In good condition for its age and use, the vintage silk textile panel is made from parachute silk. The vintage silk cloth shows typical wear including a light stain spot near the Jacqmar logo on the bottom left side.
