The term "Fischel Thonet" is not a formal partnership but rather a common name for bentwood furniture that combines a competitor's name with the originator's legacy. Fischel was one of many companies that began producing bentwood furniture after the Thonet family's patents expired, and the two names are often linked by collectors. The piece is unmarked and does not have original label.
From the Kahana Family Estate, which has assembled one of the largest and most important collections of Thonet and Thonet-style bentwood furniture on the West Coast.
