The identity of the woman is unknown rendered in charcoal and graphite on textured paper. The subject is shown in a quiet three-quarter view, her gaze lowered slightly as if caught between thought and breath. Soft, velvety charcoal blocks define the hair and the shadowed right side of the face, while fine pencil lines pick out the eyelashes, brows, and the tender curve of the lips. Eraser-lifted highlights along the left cheekbone and the bridge of the nose give the skin a gentle luminosity against a smudged, smoky background. The shoulders dissolve into loose, gestural marks, allowing the face to hold the moment. Presented in a custom black frame with silver corner accents and a clean white mat that adds air around the portrait. In good condition, visible and minimal wear. See less
