As … Read more Superbly decorated charger by prominent French artist Paul Mignon (1930 - 2012) for Parisian design house, Emaux de Longwy. As a young apprentice for the Faïence Longwy factory at age 15, Mignon quickly became known for his intricate designs and floral motifs. He began his first collections of signed limited editions in 1947. Mignon later became the curator for Longwy's private earthenware museum. Paul's work depicting Japanese-inspired floral motifs with crackled glazes earned him notability as an artist for the French state and the 1965 title of "Meilleur ouvrier de France" (Best Craftsman of France). Mignon's signed pieces remain highly collectible to this day. See less
