. Our research indicates this beauty was originally made for Neiman Marcus, by the Farris A unique and highly unusual pair of Walter B. Stephen of North Carolina "Rope Handled", Candlesticks.
These can be identified via the stamp on the bottom indicating that they are part of his' Pisgah Forest Line. Silk Fabric Company. Farris is better known for their high-end ribbon. We believe the skirt was part of the "Round Luxuries”, collection by the store in the mid-1980’s.
It is large, at 7’ in diameter, it is simple, but very, very red. It has four ties; one side is shiny red the other side is crushed velvet. Bears the original, Ferris label and material tag.
Purchased by one of the owners of Clover's Cottage at an estate sale of an interior decorator in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Apparently has been in storage for over 20 years and is in almost new condition.
The dimensions are as follows 7 in diameter with an 8" center opening.
