Prized large scholar’s rock (gongshi) displayed in its original carved wooden stand with aged patina. Known as a “dreamstone,” the polished marble reveals black, white, and green veining.

Overall very good antique condition commensurate with age. -Marble surface shows natural inclusions and veining typical of Dali dreamstones. -On one side/back edge, there is a shallow groove in the stone. It appears to be inherent to the stone or from original shaping rather than later damage or repair. This is only visible from certain angles and does not detract from the overall presentation. -Wooden stand shows surface wear and losses to lacquer. less
