This vessel rises broad and sure, its shoulders awash in smoke and ember tones. The surface bears the restless hand of fire, mottled with constellations of darkened flecks that shimmer like distant stars. Colors drift between soft rose, gray, and charcoal, layered in whispers of ash.
It is a pot born of chance and control, of clay listening to flame. To hold it is to touch the memory of earth remade, an object not of utility but of presence. A signed work of Ann Hurley, carrying California’s quiet poetry into the realm of décor.
Ann Hurley is a Halfmoon Bay ceramist; her work is shown throughout California.
