1930's Art Deco copper and brass watering can manufactured by Chase USA. This piece features a copper body and brass handle and spout, all with heavy tarnish and patina. Maker's mark on underside.
The Chase Brass and Copper Company was founded in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1876. Prior to World War II, the company produced industrial parts. During the 1930s, part of their focus shifted to the production of decorative objects and housewares. They commissioned notable industrial designers such as Walter von Nessen and Russel Wright to develop products for their burgeoning line. Highly collectible today.
