Wonderful example of animalier art in the form a man's best friend. Research indicates these were made in Austria and are circa anywhere from late 19thC through first half 20thC. Maker and exact age not known.
Truly fabulous and very lifelike pug type dog sculpture. In looking at matching examples, we're led to believe these are either clay (terracotta) or some type of composition. Extremely well made and molded with incredible detail, highlighted and accented by a realistic paint job and glass(?) eyes. The perfect accent for any decor and a great gift for the dog lover in your life.
14.75"x 6.5"x 15.25". In excellent vintage condition with minor handling/storage wear. No losses, breaks, cracks or repairs noted in our inspection. Not apparently marked or dated.
