This design reflects Meissen’s Rococo Revival tradition, echoing 18th-century forms while produced in the mid–20th century. The oak leaf motif, known as Eichenlaub, was especially favoured in Meissen’s neoclassical and revivalist services, here reinterpreted with lavish gilded detailing.
The reverse bears the Meissen crossed swords mark in underglaze blue, and having impressed numbers, in the form used after 1934, dating this example is later than 1934. This piece has an attribution mark,
