These are three wrought iron panels in the same overwork design. Each rectangular panel has elegant scrolls and geometric designs. Within the large circular rings in the center, part of elements bear resemblance to a modified version of fleur de lis. Each panel is heavy and each design element is intact. What was the original use for these beautifully crafted panels? Were they part of a fence, a gate or was each one used individually or three together as a transom window? I like to think they were once part of an ornamental parapet that graced a balcony in the French Quarter of New Orleans. That would explain the reference to the fleur de lis.
As present day decorative pieces, they look wonderful as wall ornaments, whether used inside or out on a patio wall. Or more creatively, they can be forged back together to form the top of a wrought iron glass table.
