Some of Japan's finest Stoneware, made by habitat, in the 1980s. This pattern Features a broad brown rim with ethnographic etchings.Sgraffito, 9sometimes misspelled scraffito), is a decorative technique that involves cutting away parts of a surface layer to reveal a different colored ground". This technique is obviously in play on the band of these lovely stoneware dinner plates. This design emerged coincident with the forceful appearance of graffiti in the 1980s art world. The diameter of the plates is 10.75". They are marked at base.in white on a brown ground.
