This unique and decorative chair dates back to the early 20th century, around 1910. Handcrafted in Japan for the Liberty & Co. department store in London, it is carved entirely with peony motifs. These pieces were mainly imported between 1900 and 1910 and are a clear example of the Arts & Crafts movement and the period's taste for oriental elements. A unique piece with a history.
