A vibrant wall mask of Lord Ganesh, hand-worked in repoussé brass with a silver-tone (nickel-silver) filigree overlay and set throughout with domed glass cabochons in coral red, turquoise, and azure blue. The expressive eyes and raised third eye emphasize Ganesh’s auspicious role as remover of obstacles; the feathered crown and curling trunk add sculptural presence.
Nepal, circa 1980s, a period when Kathmandu workshops produced finely detailed devotional and decorative masks combining brass bases, white-metal filigree, and colored glass inlays.
