Bethan Ash is a professional quilt maker and teacher with a background in Fashion design. She has exhibited widely and her work has been bought by museums in the UK and USA, including the Museum of Arts and Design in New York. She is a member of the prestigious International Quilt Art Group.
Urban Landscape
Statement: Art Quilt series of 1 – 9 panels. The piece was inspired by the artist Hundertwasser’s village design for Rolling Hills, Blumau, Styria. The work is first in a series connected to a recent house move from inner City living to the blissful calm of suburbia.
Size of complete installation: , 36" x 57" Each panel 12.5" x 16.5"
Method: Improvisational cut and fused wall quilt 100% cotton fabric, hand dyed and painted. Panels are mounted on wooden stretchers. Machine stitched and quilted.
