Gorgeous piece of classic American art pottery by Frederick Rothenbusch for Rookwood. Rothenbusch was employed with the company from 1896-1931. This piece is dated 1926.
Lovely squat form vase (shape 494B), featuring a repeating floral decor in lush colors, having that wonderful vellum glaze softness and glow. A beautiful object.
Measures 7.25"x 7.25"x 4.75". In as made condition with the glaze crawl on the edge of the neck flare, making this a factory second, hence the "X" to the base. No chips or cracks, negligible/nil crazing. Impress marked/dated to foot and retains original gallery label on lower half.
