A heavy, classically-shaped small bronze bowl with a matching stand from the late Qing or early Republic Period that has a rich golden color.
The bowl shows ring marks from hand-tooling. It has a shallow foot ring with a flat edge. A dark stained wood stand with four small feet is included with the bowl.
The mark CHINA is on the center of the base. The stand also has the etched mark CHINA on its base.
MEASUREMENTS
Bowl measures 4 in (10.2 cm) diameter x 2 in (5.1 cm) tall. Weighs 8.4 oz.
CONDITION
There are no dents, breaks, or cracks on the bowl. There are some black spots and wear in the central well of the bowl. I believe the bowl was over polished as I found polish paste in the foot edge. The stand is in good shape with only slight wear to the edges.
A classic bronze bowl to add to a collection or even as a small meditation bowl. It has an exquisite sound when rung or brushed.
