McArthur was known for his innovative use of aluminum in furniture, and this chair is a great example of that sleek Machine Age style from the Art Deco era.

The chair is in excellent vintage condition and was recently reupholstered in sage green velvet, which gives it a fresh but period-appropriate look. The folding design is clever and practical, and the aluminum frame with McArthur’s signature tubular engineering makes it both lightweight and sturdy. The most charming detail is the aluminum lidded ashtray at the back of the seat. Original label from Mayfair Industries intact.
