Lovely to look at Italian-style terraglia bianca / creamware oval cachepot, a fabulously classic and neutral palette that will complement just about any style. Patterned after creamware of old and adorned with a traditional grape cluster and vine motif, the lovely all-around scalloped rim and crenellated base makes it a real head turner! This beauty measures 9¼” x 5” x 4” W/H/D; interior 8” x 4¼” x 3¼” W/D/H; weight 1 lb. 3 oz.; crafted from earthenware with a highly glazed cream finish; there is a number underglaze but no makers name or country of origin mark. Water tight; no drainage hole. This beauty is identical to a piece of fine creamware that would come from Portugal or a piece of terraglia bianca from Italy. In excellent condition with age-appropriate crazing on the exterior and interior which adds charm and character, as seen in the photos. Creamware is always in style and inspiration is everywhere with a piece like this! A must have for a collector of uniquely beautiful earthenware cachepots or the perfect gift for someone who is.
