On thi five finger, (tulipiere) vase there is an embossed lattice feature embedded on each "finger" opening, as well as, hand-painted flowers on the bodice and base. The colors of forest green and dark purple ground the vase openings while the hand painted flowers of canary yellow and royal blue give delicacy to the piece. Makers mark, "Museuem of Modern Art". Perfect for Chinoiserie, French Country, or Traditional English styles.
Historical fact of the five finger vase it was a popular type container back in the 1700's and was brought over to America from England.. The vase was also known as "trumpet vase, fan vase or quintal horn." The ease of picking flowers or botanicals and placing it in the fan-like fingers made a beautiful centerpiece, instantly!
