Model 1525 floor lamp by Arthur Jacobs for Modeline of California, made in the mid 1960s. The base and frame are constructed of solid korina wood, refinished without stain to a light amber color, bringing them closer in tone to the brass stem and decorative base plate.
The light assembly has two bulbs – one lower and one higher – allowing for three on positions (lower on, upper on, both on). The conical shade provides perfectly diffuse lighting and has an attractive visual texture of its own.
The Modeline label remains intact on the upper light socket. It was only visible when the lamp was taken apart for rewiring, so we photographed it at that time.

The wooden components have been fully refinished and the lamp has been rewired. The original shade remains in excellent vintage condition, with slight imperfections visible on close inspection. This lamp was located near the ocean in Southern California for 60 years, causing some natural imperfectons to develop on the brass components. These are visible in the photo set.
