An Original 20th Century Etching by noted American Abstract Expressionist Paul Chidlaw (Cincinnati, 1900 – 1989). This work features a beautiful black line portrait. Framed in a period gilt/gold frame with ribbon detailing to the trim. Numbered and stamped with the artist's Estate Stamp to the verso.
Chidlaw studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and at L'Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Fontainebleau, France. He later moved to Paris and studied with Jean Despujols and Andre L'Hote, before returning to Cincinnati, where he lived and worked, teaching at the Art Academy. He was considered a pioneer of the Abstract movement, at the time, and he remains one of Cincinnati’s best-loved native artists
