An antique 18th Century hand-painted French Sèvres porcelain plate featuring a portrait of Marie Thérèse Louise of Savoy, Princesse de Lamballe. Signed with blue Interlaced L's Enclosing Date Letter "C" For "1755".
The plate is Sèvres porcelain, renowned for its exceptional quality and artistry, particularly during the 18th and 19th centuries when it served as the royal factory for French monarchs like Louis XV and Louis XVI.
Marie Thérèse Louise of Savoy, Princesse de Lamballe (1749-1792), was an Italian noblewoman by birth and a member of the House of Savoy. She became a close confidante of Queen Marie Antoinette of France. The Princesse de Lamballe was tragically killed during the September Massacres of 1792 amidst the French Revolution.
