Impressionist pastel on heavy paper of a lady in her garden by Washington State artist Susan Flora Glendenning (born 1948). Maybe a self portrait. This was an acquired with several of her pastels, most of which were signed in pastel and some that were signed sgraffito. This one appears to be signed sgrafitto lower right, but faintly.
Glendenning was born in Virginia and trained at Meredith College in Raleigh, graduating in 1971. She continued her education in North Carolina before spending time in Europe. She has been a Pacific Northwest resident since 1979.
