This extremely RARE Platter with "Volubilis" or "morning glory" decoration, circa 1850. This model was largely inspired by the successful series "Flora" by Creil-Montereau. The J. Vieillard & Cie factory is a Bordeaux earthenware factory, located on the Quai de Bacalan. It succeeded the David Johnston factory in 1845. It was managed by Jules Vieillard until his death in 1868.
This platter is a RARE example of such earthenware in excellent condition for its age. No chips, slight crazing only in center of main platter, no cracks. Slight imperfection on insert piece. Please view pictures and ask any questions prior to purchase.
