This is a cast metal lamp with a classic Art Nouveau design , corded and in working condition. Circa 1890-1910. The metal has been painted a pale pink. The design is ornate and curvacious in keeping with the style of the period, characterized by organic forms, flowing lines, and natuyre inspired motifs. Both the elongated form and scroll handles of the lamp are typical of the period's aesthetic. The lamp is currently topped with a cream colored fabric shade which is included but may not have been the original shade.
The body of the lamp is approximately 12 inches/30.48 centimeters. The base is 5 1/2 inches/ 13.97 centimeters. The shade is approximately 10 inches/25.4 centimeters tall. The metal base weighs over 6 pounds. The lamp is in good working order and includes a harp attachment for the shade.
The lamp would be appropriate for any side or end table in the bedroom, living room or hall space.
