These chairs are original spaghetti chairs by italian designer giandomenico belotti for alias, designed in the late 1970s and primarily produced in the 1980s. This iconic model is considered one of belotti's most famous designs and was even added to the permanent collection of the museum of modern art (moma) in new york in 1987.
the frame consists of a slender chrome-plated tubular steel frame, curved in angular yet light lines. The seat and backrest are covered with taut pvc cords, ensuring flexibility and surprisingly high seating comfort. A characteristic of this model is the airy transparency of the covering, which lends the chairs a graphic lightness. In this version, the chairs feature a two-tone design: the seats in bold red form a striking contrast to the backrests in a warm yellow tone.
the chairs are stackable, making them particularly practical for use in homes, offices, or contract spaces. Their timeless, minimalist design makes them classics of italian furniture history to this day and they are prized both as collectors and in the home.
condition: the chrome-plated frames are in good condition with only slight signs of wear. The pvc cord coverings are solid and functional, showing only minor signs of aging and slight discoloration consistent with their age. The red and yellow colors are largely vibrant and evenly preserved. Overall, the chairs are in good vintage condition with a beautiful patina.
