A diminutive decorative wooden box of unusual sarcophagus form, the sides curved and tapered, resting on tiny metal bun feet. The handled top is arrayed with dainty designs of oval faceted and rosette cut steel around a mother of pearl central lozenge. The interior is silk and marbleized paper lined. Early 19th century. Good antique condition, with some signs of age and use.
