An elegant antique 19th century tea caddy in the George III style, with a serpentine body and an urn finial at the top of the hinged lid. Neoclassical ornamental engraving is found throughout: garlands, husk swags and a shield. No marks, probably early to mid 19th century (prior to the 1840’s it was not unusual for Sheffield pieces to be unmarked). Very good condition, with hints of copper peeking through on the high points. Lacquered, so it will not need polishing.
