This piece was … Read more A rare late 19th century Belgian ironstone glass drainer made by the Boch Pottery in La Louviere. This piece was present in bistros and restaurants where glasses were washed and then placed inverted to drain and dry at the bar. The drain plate sits in a rim on the base as is easily removable. To facilitate the removal of the drained water from the base there is an opening in the rim. Because of their use, very few of these dryers survived and they make a excellent addition to any ironstone collection or any vintage oriented kitchen. This one is in very good condition with only two very small hairlines, one in the base rim and one in the drain plate, see photos. See less
