Stunning circa 1960s Shōwa Era 4-panel Japanese Byobu (folding screen) hand painted by Japanese artist Issai, depicting a lovely landscape scene with Sparrows and Blossoming Sakura (Cherry Tree). Signed and sealed by the artist. Gouache, watercolor, ink and gold color mist on paper. Silk border. Lacquered black wood frame with engraved copper corners and plaques. Silk net over paper and three original labels on back. Very Good condition - two small repair on second panel, minor age wear overall, patches over dents on back, touch-ups on the frame, clean, sturdy, strong hinges. Japan, Shōwa Era, circa 1960s.
