A most charming pair of large antique American Victorian era painted architectural columns with beautifully weathered patina.
19th century, United States, salvaged from a home in Western New York, an area rich in early American history and significance.
The exterior building elements feature a tall slightly tapering turned wood columnar pillar form with fluted lower, ribbed center, smooth round upper section and protruding rounded band top, retaining remnants of the original heavily worn ivory / off-white paint finish with warm grayish undertones and scattered chippy paint losses exposing gray primer layer and wood surfaces.
Chic naturally distressed weathered patina adds authentic antique character, elegant charm and rustic warmth, with outstanding presence, craquelure, and historical depth!
Acquired in Olcot, New York
