Stunning and rare jewelry box from R & Y Augousti. Inlaid bamboo marquetry, creating a striking geometric pattern, adorns the doors and the top. Doors open revealing a central chest with four drawers with shagreen fronts. Within and inside the doors, there are multiple compartments with removable velvet linings for storage.
The artistic backgrounds of the husband-wife duo Ria & Yiouri Augousti brought them together as innovators in their field by reviving the artisanal techniques of shagreen and other exotic materials that were predominant in the Art Deco period of the 1930s
