An expressive modernist style figurative oil painting that presents a contemplative and poised seated figure, rendered with bold, confident brushwork, and executed in oil onto canvas and dated 1978.

The subject, dressed in a muted green top, cropped blue trousers, and accented with a pale pink scarf, sits on a red-cushioned wooden chair. Their head is turned slightly to the side, the facial features left abstract, allowing posture and colour to convey mood.

The composition is set against a dynamic backdrop of vertical strokes in varying shades of blues and orange, creating a sense of depth and vibrancy.
