the poäng armchair has stylish curved lines made of bent wood, comfortable neck support, and a pleasant spring.

many variations of this armchair have been made, but this one with genuine sheepskin has always been a favorite among many and is still sought after today.

originally launched in 1972 under the name poem, it was renamed poäng in 1992 after the design was improved and modernized. Nakamura wanted to combine scandinavian and japanese furniture traditions, and used bent wood to give the armchair its characteristic spring and comfort.

noboru nakamura moved to europe in the late 1960s to attend carl malmsten's workshop school in sweden.

swedish mega-brand ikea was founded by småland-born ingvar kamprad (1926) in 1943. According to legend, kamprad even as a boy had big dreams of starting his own business, and he was able to launch ikea at age 17 through a small loan from his father as a reward for doing well in school.
