Fashioned in an elegant arched pillow form, the teapot is crafted from the classic zisha (purple-sand clay) of Yixing, Jiangsu province.
The exterior is decorated in overglaze enamels: one side with colorful peony blossoms, the other with plum blossoms, both traditional Chinese symbols of beauty and resilience. The lid and spout are further accented with enamel flower clusters, creating a harmonious design.
The lid bears an impressed mark 紫砂 (zisha), confirming its Yixing origin.

COLLECTOR'S NOTE:
While traditional Yixing teapots are prized for their brewing qualities, enamel-decorated examples like this were often created as decorative art pieces during the late Qing and Republic periods. Their playful enamel painting echoes the famille-rose porcelain tradition while celebrating the earthy warmth of zisha clay.
