Documented … Read more Beautiful and rare, vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso red and Neodymium gray Italian art glass sculptural bird flower vase. Documented to designer Antonio da Ros, for Vetreria Gino Cenedese, circa 1961. The same vase is published (in yellow and blue) in the "Murano Glass - Themes and Variations" book, please see photo. The bird has been made with Neodymium "Alexandrite" glass, which changes color from daylight to indoor light. In this case it changes from gray with a hint of purple, to a green color. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or console table. The main body is solid and very heavy. The last photo (with blue bird) is shown for a size comparison only. Mid-century era. Measures: 13 1/4" tall x 5" long x 4 1/4" wide.
