A woman with flowing hair plays her guitar so beautifully that she captivates the full attention of a bird. Entranced, the creature responds with a full display of its feathers. The dove, or pidgeon, symbolizing love or companionship, has been used by the creator of this piece in some of his other works. This lithograph’s artist, Alvar Suñol Munoz-Ramos, commonly known as Alvar, was born in 1935 in Montgat, Spain. He is recognized internationally for his surreal, mystical imagery and lyrical subjects, as in this piece. Known for his technical expertise and masterful use of color across various mediums, including oil painting, lithography, sculpture, and ceramics, Alvar has been shown in more than 40 museum exhibitions and 95 galleries and museums across the United States, Europe and Asia.
