Luciano Frigerio's extraordinary Stropccio modular sofa, a true rarity of 1970s Italian design, first published in Domus in 1975, perfectly embodies Luciano Frigerio's visionary and sculptural spirit.
Composed of five large modular armchairs, entirely upholstered in the original, fine aquamarine suede, the sofa captivates not only with its elegant materials but also with its ability to create a truly sculptural wave.
By combining the five elements, the seat's line transforms into a fluid and continuous movement, a soft and dramatic wave that flows through the space with lightness and personality.
The satin-finish brass bases, shaped to follow the undulating profile, add a precious and luminous touch, further enhancing the interplay of forms.
The modular system also allows the individual elements to be separated, creating independent lounge chairs, each with its own sculptural presence. However, it is in the wave-like composition that this sofa reveals all its charm and uniqueness: a true statement piece capable of defining the style of a space on its own, perfect for contemporary living rooms, dramatic spaces, and high-end interiors.
The wide seat, enveloping cushions, and inviting suede offer superior comfort, while the iconic silhouette published in the pages of Domus in 1975 makes this model a collector's item, extremely difficult to find in such original condition.
Excellent vintage condition, with minimal signs of use consistent with its age. The suede upholstery is intact and soft, and the brass bases are perfectly preserved.
