This beautiful, large vase is the work of the Elchinger pottery. Its understated, geometric shape is highlighted by a nuanced, earthenware-effect mineral green glaze. The oblong shape of the vase is delicately enhanced by circular grooves. The ceramic is signed intaglio on the underside. This vase comes from a collection designed by Fernand Elchinger in 1942. The use of this particular green glaze is rare for Elchinger pottery during this period. A demonstrative piece, it will enhance a midcentury piece of furniture or a beautiful bouquet!
The vase is in beautiful condition. Large in size, it has a beautiful sculptural presence. It is signed Elchinger et Fils, ceramic art Soufflenheim Alsace intaglio on the reverse.
19cm in diameter, 28cm in height.
