These highly ornate and colorful designs were typical of ceiling corners, friezes, and panel insets in aristocratic interiors under the reign of louis xv, showcasing the full flourish of the rococo aesthetic. The upper part of the plate presents two horizontal friezes bursting with asymmetrical scrollwork, shell motifs, garlands of roses, and stylized fountains. The compositions feature pastel tones of turquoise, salmon pink, lavender, and light blue set against warm ochre backgrounds, punctuated by floral festoons and delicate latticework.
