Spectacular and rare piece of Italian glass dating to the late 1950s.
From designer Fulvio Bianconi for the Venini furnace, comes this massive "fasce orizzontali" vase. Sculptural with a slightly oval form, this piece shows the mastery of top quality artisans with the wrapped bands of transparent glass over the clear base. A true mid-century gem!
Measures approximately 9"x 6"x 19". Has production variations/flaws that include air bubbles in the wall, etc, as well as an annealing fracture (see photo), which was stabilized by Ark Restoration (NYC). Bears an early oval Venini acid stamp (see enhanced photo). Undated.
Has age/use handling wear of small scattered surface marks, scuffs. No chips.
