The armillary sphere in the center of this showpiece models the celestial sphere, showing the great circles of the heavens like the equator, tropics, and ecliptic. Unlike a celestial globe, which maps constellations on a smooth surface, armillary sphere uses a framework of rings to represents these celestial lines and features. This lamp incorporates the spinning sphere on a heavy base with tonal tan linen drum lampshade with original finial atop. Is in good condition for its vintage age. See less
