A Antique Pair of Ironstone Flow Mulberry Gaudy Brushstroke Plates, Circa 1850
Made in the 1840-1850's, in the Staffordshire district of Stoke on Trent, England.
These are really unique, as its "Flow Mulberry" glaze hand painted onto a white ironstone plate then overgrazed in the standard clear glaze.
This type of decoration was generally made for the Pennsylvania dutch market, and other German speaking parts of the mid 19th century America.
Size: 8 1/4" across.
Condition: One plate has a chip. Both plates have some staining from age and use. Minor use and wear marks associated with age and use. Overall very nice condition.
