A mid to late 20th century reproduction of an early 19th-century English Regency writing desk crafted from mahogany. The table features a classic X-frame curule base with reeded, curved legs connected by a turned stretcher. The corners of the table are detailed with hand-carved lion head masks on the corners within recessed panels and a central apron with a carved motif of a ribbon and laurel leaves. The top surface is fitted with a green leather insert, divided into three panels. The legs terminate in brass casters, a common feature of the period.
It is a great homage to the original English Regency and Neoclassical styles and it is suitable for use as a writing desk or a console table. While structurally sound, it is of delicate construction and on casters which makes it a little wobbly so not recommended to hold large or heavy items.
