It has the maker's stamp embossed on the bottom. It dates to the 1960s/1970s and is in good condition for its age.

This chest has a wonderful real leather finish which has an abundance of beautiful tooled decoration. There are beautifully embossed modern zigzags and large raised elongated diamonds.

There is a beautiful gilt metal escutcheon to the keyhole, decorative shaped gilt metal studs upon the diamonds. The box also has its original piano hinge and original working lock and pretty key.

The bottom of the chest has its original gold embossed maker's stamp:
This fabulous chest was made by M. CINTOLESI in P.ZA PITTI (Piazza de Pitti), FIRENZE.

The Interior
The interior is lined in plush deep turquoise emerald velvet and has a removable storage tray at the top which has one compartments plus a ring storage section. There is a further single compartment beneath the tray. There are lovely gilt metal handles on the storage tray which enable you to lift it out of the chest with ease. There is a locking feature, but no key is included.

Condition
This very stylish chest is still in excellent condition despite its age. It has sound structure and no damage.
The interior linings are still in very good condition with only minor wear and a few little marks.
There is minor light wear to the leather which is commensurate with age and use.
