Pair antique 19th century French glazed earthenware models of rhinoceros. Each figure stands atop a rectangular grassy plinth. Exceptional quality and detail. A true left/right pair. Measure 10 1/4" x 5 1/4" x 6 1/2" tall.
An identical pair is in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, gift of Mrs. Russell S. Carter in 1944, and may be view online.
