The son of a potter, Gilbert Méténier settled in Gannat, Allier, in the 1900s. There, he produced utilitarian ceramic pieces, but above all decorative pieces in flamed stoneware with iridescent and metallic reflections. This magnificent planter or basin with draped edges is covered with a glaze that multiplies colors and effects.
The basin or planter is in very good condition and is a good size. The blue glaze with drips and crackle effects is magnificent. The vase is hand-signed Gilbert Méténier.
20 cm maximum diameter, 14 cm height.
