A tall chinoiserie famille rose ceramic vase. This piece is very tall and could be used as a floor vase, or to decorate a credenza or dining table. The top of the vessel is hand-painted in a mauve pink with flowers in blue, yellow, and different shades of green. A Greek key pattern lines just under the neck. Around the body, are hand-painted traditional scenes of a village and an emperor. The bottom is painted sky blue with stripes in yellow, blue, pink, and mauve. On the underside, the piece is signed in black Chinese characters. The top of the vase has one red stylized handle with a gold accent. One handle appears to have broken off at one point in its life. Style this piece with your favorite flowers, or bamboo shoots to add color to any room.
